TOPIC: Silverstone Classic 28-30 July

Silverstone Classic 28-30 July 3 months 6 days ago #37912

Hi, i am attending the Silverstone Classic 28-30 July and driving down from Scotland in my X1/9. The X1/9 owners club are not registered for this event, is it possible to register?

It's a great event, best classic show i have attended, over 10,000 cars, last year 2 Miuras, lots of other Lamborghinis, around 8 lancia Stratos, hundreds of Ferraris. Great racing on track from 60's classics, 80s/90s formula 1 cars, 90s touring cars etc and displays and there is a concert each night.

I will be heading down to Silverstone for the Classic too. Brilliant event with great entertainment as well as a phenomenal selection of classics on and off the track. Bootleg Beatles and the Who cover band this year, I think.

It would be great to have a stand there: sounds like we wil have half a dozen cars attending in any case, so they might as well be on the infield! It just needs a committee member to approach the Silverstone Classic team and we are in. Is anyone able to do this?

Being as its local to me I would be happy to do some organising for an official type X1/9 presence if it's not too late. Could somebody more in the know how to get the ball rolling point me in the eight direction?

Hi Jon,

If you contact Juliet Quarmby; she has previously organised the Silverstone event for the club.

It would be great if you could take this on and organise it.

Cheers

Andy

I think all the info is on the Silverstone Classic website. You may need to spend a few minutes to find it, but it's pretty straight forward.

Hi Chris,

Does that include clubs applying to have a display?

Yes its all there under 'Car Clubs' , just follow registration and you're in, so long as its a club official registering the club.

Have just emailed Silverstone classic again, the club have not registered, It is free for the club to register, can the club please register! See email below:
Gary

I'm afraid not. You may wish to contact them and remind them that it is
FOC to register for the Silverstone Classic with members benefitting from
the ticket discounts offered to car club members.

We hope to see you at the event, with the Club, in July.

Regards

Neil

Hi, any update on this? Would really like the club to register otherwise i'm going to have to register as individual and that's not really good promotion for club. Can any of the committee please provide a response and timescale if you are registering?

Can I ask if Jon has registered the Club yet? When he does, we need to know the Club Code to gain access to the Car Club discount package (which is basically a BOGOF deal with infield pass for the weekend).

I've checked again on the Silverstone Classic website and it is very user friendly and simple to register the Club. We even get a mention in the programme and our contact details published, so it's all good (and free!).
