My first X1/9 was a metallic red 1983 1500 bought new from Croft & Blackburn in Harrogate.  This was definitely a car bought with the heart rather than the head as I could not really afford to own and run it. Unfortunately, I was forced to sell it after about 9 months and we traded it back in for a Fiat Panda!

I have always loved the car and, now retired and a bit more financially secure, I set about finding a really good example that I could cherish and enjoy.  I eventually saw advertised an exceptional 1989 standard X1/9 and travelled down to Bournemouth about a year ago to see it.  I was immediately hooked and did the deal there and then.

The car had only covered just over 10,000 miles from new and came with a pretty full history.  I got it shipped back to Chester and spent the winter going over it from top to bottom.  Apart from some surface rust on the boot floor and a couple of small dents, the bodywork is perfect.  The car has always run well but a recent service by Allitalia, Wrexham has really made it as good as new.

I am looking forward to many years enjoyment of this lovely little classic!
