Evening all.without spending money sending the seat, well both,to an upholsterer, has anyone used an off cut piece of leather to cover the eye sore just as a temporary measure. If so what adhesive did you use,or rather, what do you advise. I look forward to the abundance of knowledge on this greatly appreciated forum.

When I had these seats, I sourced a spare passenger seat base (or two), which normally dont wear as much as the drivers and used the cover on the drivers seat.

I'm not sure what adhesive you could use, but an upholsterer would be able to advise.

Also, when repairing the seat, it is advisable to put some reinforcing under stitched joints, then it spreads the load away from the join.

You might consider real sheepskin seat covers. I have never regretted them, cool in summer and warm in winter, always comfortable.

The car itself is in really good condition, 46000 miles and I’m just disappointed in the seats,I’ve cleaned and resprayed them and just want to do the right thing.with the top off your eyes are drawn to the splits in the seats.Thankyou both for your replies.
Just need to meet up with others who are living in the northwest.(Lancashire)
